iPhone battery health refers to how much charge your phone’s battery can still hold compared to when it was brand new. As all batteries age, they naturally lose some capacity — which is why your phone might not last quite as long after a year or two of use.
If your iPhone battery is draining fast, low battery health is usually the reason. That’s why 86% makes such a difference. At this level, the battery can still comfortably power a full day of normal use. It also holds up better over time, so you’re less likely to see sudden drops in performance.

From now on, every iPhone in our Standard category will come with a battery that has at least 86% health. That’s a step up from our previous minimum of 80%, and it means more reliable battery performance for everyday use — right out of the box.
If a phone originally has less than 86% battery health, we replace the battery during refurbishment. This iPhone battery replacement is included as part of our standard process — no extra steps or additional costs for you.
